PPL Shipyard Pte Ltd
Baker Tech has a 15% interest in PPL Shipyard through its wholly owned subsidiary, PPL Holdings Pte Ltd, an investment holding company acquired by Baker Tech in May 2007. The remaining 85% interest in PPL Shipyard is held by SembCorp Marine Limited.
PPL Shipyard is a leading specialist in the design and construction of offshore drilling rigs for shallow and deep waters. It operates from two yards in Singapore, at Pandan Road and Tuas Crescent.
It has a proven track record in the building and servicing of jack-up rigs and semi-submersible rigs. The Pacific Class 375 jack-up rigs constructed by PPL are well accepted in the market as rigs of choice.
PPL's other capabilities include the design and construction of specialised offshore vessels and marine terminals such as dedicated offshore propelled jack-up maintenance units, offshore maintenance vessels, anchor handling tug supply vessels and rapid installation jetties or transfer terminals.
